Survent v8.1 with webSuper released

After three years of development, testing and validation, Survent version 8.1 is now available for installation.

Here are a few highlights of the improvements and enhancements enabled in this new version:

CATI interviewing and management

  • webSuper, browser-based supervisor. Supervisors can now manage studies, start CATI/webCATI stations, access quota reports, monitor stations, manage sample and much, much more, all with a few clicks of the mouse. Check out our webSuper training demonstration or download the webSuper product page (pdf) .
  • automatic quota checks before dialing. Call only numbers in desired quota cells and substantially reduce the chances of going over quota.
  • dialer logging. The CfMC server now logs the dialer type (several may be used - simultaneously) and dialing mode (auto, predictive, preview, etc.) for all interviewers - as well as all dialer-statuses of numbers.

project, questionnaire and survey capabilities

  • one million questions. Survent questionnaires can now include up to 1 million questions. More questions decreases the need for !Call-type questionnaires.
  • one million characters. A question can now have 1
million characters, allowing approximately 10,000 codes and text, and enough space for as many languages or codes as you want.
  • ten million sample records. You can now field up to ten million records concurrently per study. This is especially useful for very large "inbound" sample sets where you need access to as many records as possible.
  • master quota file. A single Master quota file can control multiple studies.
  • seamless multi-lingual capabilities. Survent now supports UTF-8, meaning you can now conduct surveys in any language using the same survey files.

gathering data via browsers enhanced

  • portable web coding. It's now easier to save and share HTML and webSurvent code between studies.
  • keyboard input mode. Questions can now be designated to allow keyboard (instead of point-and-click) entry.
  • JavaScript capabilities and library enhanced. User our freely-provided JavaScripts (or create and use your own) to pass data via URL, auto-submit after x number of seconds, conduct on-screen data checks, and much more.

Note: Survent version 8.1 is currently available for clients running Unix systems.  A DOS version is being completed and testing and should be available within a few months.

CfMC testing and certification

CfMC software is the principal software package in marketing research and opinion polling operations worldwide. Many clients depend on Survent, webCATI, webSurvent and Mentor to deliver core competencies over their operations.

CfMC strives to release software that indeed exceeds the expectations of the most discernable user. We recognize that if our software does’t run properly, our clients' bottom lines are impacted.

Unlike users of other software packages, CfMC users expect their old jobs and spec (instruction) files to continue to run, even as many new features are being added to the software. This is the greatest challenge in testing and ultimately certifying a new CfMC software release.
